About Us

Living with us on our beautiful Demeter mountain farm, alongside our neighbouring family and our staff, are eleven dairy cows, a bull, six to eight pigs, a few chickens, a donkey, a horse, our dog Deva and the cats Kurt II, Xaver and Mina.

Our story

We have a guiding principle.

  • Our farm’s activities are varied.
  • Our products meet the highest quality requirements.
  • We are open and like to experiment with new things.
  • Our farm offers its inhabitants room to grow.
  • We nurture our relationship with our customers, our surroundings and the people living on the farm.
  • We treat our animals with love and in a species-appropriate way, and their lives are calm.
  • Our biodynamic way of farming protects the environment and the natural cycles.

We know that we have been given the chance, in this beautiful place, to create something unique.

So who exactly are we?

We are David Rotzler and Rahel Kilchsperger, a man from Basel and a woman from Bern, blond and brunette, with glasses and without. We studied agronomy at ETH and then threw ourselves headfirst into the practice of farming.

Since 21 August 2011 our son Jakob has enriched our lives, and since 6 February 2013 our daughter Eva. On 12 September 2018 our second little boy, Ezra, joined us.

Since spring 2013 we have shared the everyday life of the farm with our cheerful neighbouring family Capaul-Heid: Andri, Rose, Levin, Niculin, Emeli and Antoni.
